Natural raw milk is permeate free and non-homogenised and has many health benefits. As stated in an article written by Organic NZ Magazine: July/August 2014  raw milk contains vitamins, minerals, enzymes and beneficial bacteria, with just the correct amount of protein, fat and carbohydrates for optimum nutrient absorption. Raw milk is easier to digest and generally tolerated better than pasteurised and homogenised milk.

Reduces Allergies

In a study published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology involving 8,000 children with various diets, researchers came to the conclusion that by drinking raw milk, children experienced “naturally immunizing” effects.

The risk of allergies is reduced by the nutrients naturally found in raw milk such as probiotics, vitamin D and immunoglobulins (antibodies) which help to balance the immune system. Pasteurisation can destroy the enzymes found in raw milk which can cause lactose intolerance.

Keeps Skin Healthy

Consuming raw milk benefits the skin because it contains healthy saturated fats which helps support hydration.

Raw milk can also be used in topical creams such as moisturisers.

Probiotics found in raw milk can kill bad bacteria in your gut, which can dramatically affect the health of your skin. Research has shown that inflammation and unbalanced gut flora can contribute to skin issues such as acne and eczema.

Prevents Nutrient Deficiencies 

A glass of milk contains approximately 400 milligrams of calcium, 50 milligrams of magnesium and 500 milligrams of potassium. We need these minerals to function properly and to build bone density, keep the blood circulating, detoxify our body and to support metabolism. Eating nutrient-dense foods such as raw dairy milk and freshly grown fruits and vegetables helps to keep our bodies in optimum health.

MPI Registration

At the present time in New Zealand, only farmers registered and approved to sell raw milk with the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) can legally sell directly to the public from their farm gate. You can come to our farm to buy raw milk directly from our vending machine. Be sure to bring some cash as we do not have eftpos. You can also buy bottles from us or bring your own container.

Our milk is tested by Fonterra, Eurofins and Milk Test NZ weekly to every 10 days, for freshness and quality. All tests are also monitored by AsureQuality to ensure our milk is of the highest quality.

We follow rigorous cleanliness practices when milking our raw milk herd to achieve the purest possible milk for your family. We are required however to display the following MPI health warning.

MPI Health Warning

Raw milk may contain harmful microorganisms that can cause serious illness. To reduce the risk of illness, raw milk should be heated to at least 70°C for one minute. This is critical for infants, young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.

MPI recommend that the use by date is 4 days from the date you receive your milk.
